The bees are thriving.
It's been chilly here I mean unusually chilly.
I have pushed anymore planting to midweek at best.
The temps are just now getting to where I can walk out on the porch with no pants as God intended.
So activity will be picking up around here.
I must say the recovery from whatever I had has been less than optimal.
Still not back to full speed a general malaise no energy type thing.
That is all.
Bees just holding their own here in West Central IL ( the bulge above St. Louis)

I 'nuc'd' 10 packages Saturday (got the proverbial Killer Deal as a buyer backed out on my supplier) and hope they get going in spite of the weather.
Keep us informed.......and GOOD LUCK !
Right on I'm going for my second

ReplyDeleteAre they flying and do you have any flowering plants? Here in SE Indiana they're doing well, but these are all second and fourth year hives. Biggest problem here is winters can be too warm and stores run low.
ReplyDeleteA lot of clover around yes they are definitely getting out.
DeleteSounds like your doing good. I like to sit and watch the little buggers coming and going, drinking a coffee or sipping a beer. Good way to gage how much they are brining in and what the health of a colony is. Enjoy!
