Deep drilling thoughts (just to stir up some shit):
Life evolved to survive and thrive on this planet over the past 4 billion years or so, any variability in the weather is part of the normal environment, ergo there is no such thing as "climate change", "global warming", "new ice age" or any other such label applied to same. All organisms either adapt or die off, there is no other way for life to continue.
Stop with all the bleating and figure out how to survive on your own and/or with the local community. Taking from others to help yourself is not going to save anyone from anything over time, it just causes undue suffering for many to the temporary benefit of a few.
Drill baby drill is part and parcel of survival in areas of the globe affected by planetary tilt and distance to the sun, neither of which can be altered by human activity, so just deal with reality and get on with your life.
BTW, petrochemicals are produced by the earth through internal processes, hydrocarbons, mineral concentrations even gasses, are continuously produced and altered by heat and pressure. we use them to survive in more comfort that is otherwise possible. Making this difficult benefits no one.
Get on with the drilling and quit pestering the rest of us.
